Andy Warhol: Social Circus, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Project Manager: CHU Hao Pei
2—18 September 2016

Andy Warhol: Social Circus, which was first launched in Singapore during Singapore Art Week 2016, is a travelling show, with Kuala Lumpur being its first stop. Held from 2 September to 18 September 2016, the exhibition is free to the public, who will get to see around 50 artworks important to Warhol's illustrious career and life. This is the largest Andy Warhol exhibition to hit Malaysian shores in recent times.

The Ryan Foundation is excited about this effort and sees the decision to tour the show as an opportunity to share the love of art and to spread the arts education message. Founding Director Ryan Su says:

"The choice to bring to show to Asia was a natural one. People, especially young people, are now exposed to the life and work of Andy Warhol through Instagram, Facebook and the internet, but there is a dearth of institutions and collections in Asia where they can see Warhol's art up close and personal. We fill that void and hope to enthuse visitors about art when they see the touring show. We are working with some of the most beautiful venues in the various countries to best showcase Warhol's work… I expect visitors to have fun at the show."
